Cancer is never good news but it can maybe turn things around for some people. For example, if someone looks at it as a negative experience, they would probably not recover from it. The cancer would quickly deteriorate the body faster up until someone die. Getting some cancer treatments can help cut down on the mortality rate Some people are able to beat it because of some support from people and getting some treatments. There are at least 12 treatments for cancer. At least one or a combination of the treatments will help eradicate cancer.

The 12 cancer treatments are surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, hyperthermia, anti-angiogenesis treatment, gene therapy, bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell transplant, photodynamic therapy, blood product donation and transfusion, and lasers.

All of them do at least treat and/or eliminate cancer. The blood transfusion can help cancer patients despite that it helps people to replace the blood that is lost during some medical reason. There are cancer patients who do lose blood and their body won’t replenish itself so getting donated blood would benefit them for what they lost.

The knife is a thing of the past and the laser is replacing it to remove cancer from the body. Lasers tend to be much safer because there is no cutting involved to be operated on. And the 3 common lasers are used on cancer patients. They are the carbon dioxide, argon and Neodymium: Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet (Nd:YAG). Unfortunately, few doctors and nurses are trained to use this type of technology on their cancer patients.

Most know about chemotherapy which uses drugs to help fight off cancer. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work but it is an option to use. The bad news is that it can make the immune system weaker and can make the person bald because they would be losing their hair due to the treatment.

There are some pros and cons to using any of these methods to fight or treat cancer. As long as cancer is around, technology will be more advanced just like lasers replaced the scalpel.
